'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Ethan Galbraith resumes clash with City.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he recalls the dramatic dying seconds of his team's stunning fightback triumph against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup. The encounter ended with Galbraith temporarily wearing a fan's glasses amid the pitch-side pile-on.

As the match entered added time, Galbraith cracked the upright with a long-range effort from outside the box, and his teammate quickly hammered in the deflection before racing off toward the home end to celebrate, with the crowd mobbing the players.

Stunning Reversal

This sealed an incredible turnaround given the Welsh side had found themselves down 2-0 midway through the final 45 minutes. In the celebrations, there was some collateral damage. Galbraith explained, "There was a supporter sort of calling out and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were thinking: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a light-hearted moment putting them on. We are on the pitch as players but we're individuals, too, so to have a joke with the fans is always good."

Premier League Giants

The result secured a fourth-round game at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith came close against at the same stage of the FA Cup with the London side in February. He had an excellent perspective when Orient took the lead in spectacular fashion, with a teammate's volley from about 45 yards going in via the bar and the City goalkeeper. It seems unfair that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have expected they would've awarded it to him for taking the effort on from that distance," stated Galbraith, who played in the middle before switching to right defensive wing after they changed tactics. That meant facing off against City's winger, with whom he swapped shirts, and the winger was among the opposition who complimented the way the underdogs approached the match.

Guardiola's System

"Fitness-wise they are outstanding but even the fundamentals and basic skills, they can just do it over and over again," the midfielder notes. "It feels like they never miss a pass and they are adept at manage and slow down a game. You can feel you're all right and then abruptly they will just deliver a through ball between defenders without you even spotting it. You have to be alert at all times of the game. It demands a strong mentality and attention just to keep pace."

New Chapter

The club pushed to sign Galbraith in January and secured his signature to sign him in the summer in a significant move. He became a favorite as a crowd pleaser across two seasons at his former club and has rapidly replicated that in south Wales. At his previous team he linked up again with Richie Wellens, who earlier gave Galbraith his debut prolonged spell in first-team action on loan at Doncaster from United. Then came a loan at League Two Salford, before he departed Old Trafford.

Growth Journey

"I was probably a somewhat inexperienced going into professional soccer. I think numerous professionals would say youth team games is very different. Sometimes it appears possession is exchanged without real physicality. You see few tackles or duels. Once you start playing professional matches you have to adapt rapidly."

Country Call-ups

His progress reflects that maturation for club and country, shining for the Green and White Army, who remain in contention for the World Cup next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has been selected in the recent fixtures, including two matches games against the German national team. Ian Baraclough, Galbraith's former international manager, offered the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he manipulates the ball and his ability to spot a game-changing assist.

Humble Beginnings

This marks an incredible journey for the youngster from the local area in the Belfast suburb, just outside the capital, who was raised observing his dad, Stuart, also a midfielder, play for his father's team.

Manchester United Experience

The player's single match for the Red Devils came in Central Asia in 2019, a continental tournament trip to the host city, where they featured on an synthetic surface and the arena covering was shut owing to the weather of freezing cold. "It was a lengthy journey and it was cold out there," he says, grinning. "The preceding week, several youth players and I trained together, so that aided our adjustment. Just to accompany the senior squad and get a couple of minutes at the end was unbelievable."

Departing Old Trafford

How hard was it to leave United, the club he transferred from aged a teenager? "It was relatively straightforward, because I reached the point where I knew I wasn't going to make it at the top level. I'm extremely thankful for the time I spent there but it became apparent where I thought I had to take a different path, join a smaller club and play men's football. Now I'm steadily climbing the ladder."

Life in Swansea

It is the middle of the day at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has a commitment at 5pm: a driving theory test, another progress toward getting on the road. Prior to relocating to his new neighborhood, the 24-year-old was a regular in Swansea's nicknamed fun bus, a team vehicle driven by club employees, the drivers, which ferries players to and from training and matches.

"It's myself Gonçalo Franco, the Brazilian, an Ivorian player – a former passenger used to be in it but has begun using his own car. It's enjoyable to interact with the lads but I'm hoping to be the following person to stop using the bus and behind the wheel. His teammate is known for his humor; he's frequently playing tricks."

Public Engagement

During his time at his former club, Galbraith would blend in with fans on London's Central line after commuting at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
